Originally published in 1976, this book discusses the surface form of Scotland, giving particular emphasis to the succession of changes through time. It begins by considering the important influence exerted by the varied geology on present relief features and the initiation of the drainage system and the development of the major landforms through Tertiary time. It then discusses the consequences of glacial erosion and deposition and the sequence of glacial events, ending with a summary of sea-level changes.
